HIV, AIDS AND DISABILITY IN SOUTH AFRICA
This report looks at the challenges of HIV among disabled people in South Africa. The documentation process is aimed at validating anecdotal evidence of the impact of AIDS on disabled people. It documents known but often unheard, unseen and unsaid real issues around HIV and disability. The report documents the response of the disability sector to this challenge and the role of government and other stakeholders. The report is informed by document reviews and field research. The latter was carried out in 2007 and consisted mainly of focus group discussions, case studies and key informant interviews.
