For the first time in its history the CIVICUS (a global network committed to enhancing rights, freedoms, health, and vitality of civil society), State of Civil Society report has included disability. The International Disability and Development Consortium is proud to have been included in this process and collaboration. This year’s report, “State of Civil Society 2013: Creating an enabling environment” includes a chapter on page 229 written by former intern, now interim-coordinator, Julia Wolhandler titled, “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Promoting full and equal participation”.
We would like to thank CIVICUS for reaching out to us to include the important issue of disability rights in this year’s report.
