This summer, progress was booked on the post-2015 development agenda. On July 19th, the United Nations ‘Open Working Group’ published it proposal for Sustainable Development Goals. This report includes five explicit references to persons with disabilities: one in the Chapeau of the document (applying to the whole document) and in 4 goals: education (4); employment (11), sustainable cities (11) and disaggregation of data (17). In the beginning of August the report of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF) published its report on how the SDG’s must be financed. This report contains 4 explicit references to persons with disabilities. Both reports will be presented to the General Secretary Ban Ki Moon at the General Assembly of the United Nations in September 2014, after which the process will continue.
